EASE provides one-on-one music instrument instruction in the after-school program, as follows:

Piano

Lessons for children in first grade and older. During lessons children will have fun as they learn the correct posture, hand position on the keyboard and to read music. We believe the Alfred beginner method is the most complete to develop a strong foundation of the basics and enables children to enjoy the excitement of playing music on their own. They gradually build from simple songs to more challenging pieces. Playing an instrument supports a child’s academic and social development, creativity, and boosts self-esteem.

Petit Piano

Petit Piano - Instruments - Excellence After School Emporium

(For Preschoolers)

Developed for children in PK3 through Kindergarten, this class is inspired by the Suzuki method, proven as the best method for early years Piano instruction. Each one-on-one lesson is 30 minutes long during which instructors direct and encourage the child. Children develop basic technical competence and practice through listening and repetition to build upon skills. The earlier a child begins instrument lessons the more solid his/her acquisition of skills and advancement. Playing an instrument supports a child’s academic and social development, creativity, and boosts self-esteem.

Drums

Drums - Instruments - Excellence After School Emporium

This class is a hit! Children will learn the proper posture, wrist motion, and grip. They will learn to read and listen to music rhythm and translate it into their body movements to produce the right sounds. The fine movements practiced during lessons have a positive impact on a child’s bilateral brain coordination and overall musical development. Guitar

Learning guitar opens up a whole new aspect to the world of music. Beginning with basic posture and hand movement, students then move on to scales, chords, and tuning. As their ability and confidence increase they will quickly enjoy reading and playing songs. The magic really happens when the student plays the guitar and sings at the same time; then the love for playing the guitar becomes part of their life and not just a hobby. Violin

Violin - Excellence After-School Emporium

Encourage children’s creative expression in this unique class. Students begin by learning the parts of the violin and the best way to hold the instrument and bow. They will learn the pitches of each string as well as expressions, theory, and reading music. Youngsters will enjoy playing music from a variety of genres. Other

Other Instruments - Excellence After School Emporium

EASE has the capacity to offer one-on-one instruction in cello, flute, recorder, saxophone, clarinet, and other instruments, should a school request it. Parents should know that they can ask school principals to consider adding these instruments to the after-school program or to class instruction.
